Public advised to say 'no' to salesmen
Police are reminding pushy sales people that unsolicited 'cold calling' is now illegal in the Island.
It follows several reported incidents around the capital in recent days.
The practice was outlawed in June - that includes phone calls as well as face-to-face visits.
Merchants are free to distribute leaflets and advertisements - as long as they're not officious in trying to obtain work.
Anyone who feels they've been targeted by a cold caller is advised to 'politely say no', and call the Office of Fair Trading on 686520.
