DEFA says team is 'continuing to carry out checks'
The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture is urging the public to exercise caution this week as the Isle of Man braces for more strong to gale force winds.
Ronaldsway Met Office has issued a yellow alert for coastal overtopping with winds of up to 55mph until 3am (18 December).
While the gusts are not predicted to be severe, there are concerns over areas already weakened by the recent impact of Storm Darragh.
DEFA is advising avoiding glens and plantations during high winds, particularly in areas that have sustained storm damage.
Taped-off sections of woodland or plantations should not be entered, and caution is urged around leaning or hung-up trees.
A spokesperson says: "Our team is actively conducting checks to ensure public safety.
"However if you notice any hazardous trees or areas of concern please contact us at forestry@gov.im."
