Public petition started calling for action on CoMin vote of no confidence

Follows backlash from this year's Budget

A public petition has been started today (2 March) which is calling for progress on a vote of no confidence in the Isle of Man’s chief minister and Council of Ministers.

Members of the public are being encouraged to sign the document – on change.org – if they want their own MHK to take action.

It’s been set up by someone called Jonathan Smith who highlights perceived concerns raised by taxpayers, and the Chamber of Commerce, following this year’s Budget.

You can find out more about a vote of no confidence HERE.

Earlier this week Chief Minister Alfred Cannan told Manx Radio any calls for his dismissal should be part of ‘proper robust debate’ in the House of Keys and Tynwald.

You can listen to him HERE.

Manx Radio has invited the Isle of Man Government to respond.
