Public invited to find out more about onshore windfarm proposals

Consultation events being held around the Island

With the planning application for the Isle of Man's first onshore wind farm due to be submitted early next year, members of the public are invited to a series of consultation events later this month.

The Cair Vie Windfarm would be sited at Earystane and could provide up to a quarter of our annual electricity needs.

Manx Utilities will hold eight meetings at venues around the Island to hear the views of local people about the proposals and senior officers and specialist consultants will be on hand to talk with.

Chief Executive Officer at the MUA is Phil King:

The consultation events will be as follows:

Saturday, October 19: Morton Hall, Castletown, 12noon-4pm

Sunday, October 20: Douglas City Hall, 12noon-4pm

Monday, October 21: Peel Centenary Centre, 2-7pm
