Public Health issues rabies advice

Travellers urged to plan ahead for vaccinations

Public Health Isle of Man is reiterating advice issued in England to those travelling to rabies-affected countries.

Public Health England published a warning to travellers urging them not to come into contact with animals when visiting areas affected by the disease.

The Manx authorities are urging those planning a trip to speak to their practice nurse or travel health provider six weeks before travelling to discuss recommended vaccinations.

It comes following the death of a British man in Morocco after he was bitten by a cat there.
