Plans for Loch Promenade development submitted

Permission sought for 80-bedroom hotel and retail and leisure space

Plans have been submitted for a new development at Villiers Square in Douglas.

Tevir Group wants to build an 80-bedroom hotel and 80,000 square feet of office, retail and leisure space on the Loch Promenade site.

It says it’s engaged with government and the business community ahead of submitting the plans.

Managing director Ciaran Doherty said: Subject to approval being granted the development promises to transform this important gateway to Douglas.

We are grateful to the Planning and Building Control Directorate for their assistance with the pre-application and consultation process.

We are also grateful for the support of the Department for Enterprise; its Island Infrastructure Scheme has been a key element in enabling us to progress the development.

Under the scheme the Tevir Group will receive taxpayer backed financial support.

Work is set to begin on the site ‘as soon as practicably possible’ if planning permission is granted.
