Proposals for site South Quay include twelve charging bays
A planning application has been submitted for a new electric vehicle charging station in Douglas.
The applicant, Lemac Power, wants to install twelve EV charging bays on the site on South Quay along with solar panels and storage facilities and new vehicular access.
The site was once home to an industrial unit until it was demolished in 2018 making way for a car park.

Alongside the new plans a part time maintenance position will be created, dedicated to the upkeep and cleaning of the site.
Acting on behalf of the applicant, James Brookman Design says the employment of a dedicated staff member for this function will provide 'a direct benefit to the local workforce'.
