Police investigation following red flag incident on first day of MGP
Police say a section of the Mountain Course will remain closed for a 'significant period' following an incident on the first day of the 2024 Manx Grand Prix.
An investigation is taking place on the stretch between The Bungalow and the Creg-ny-Baa (18 August).
It follows a red flag incident at 4.50pm in the Classic Super Bike and Senior Session which stopped all action on the course.
The road closure around the Mountain Course was extended by an hour to 7pm.
People who are travelling on this evening's Steam Packet sailing have been asked to make their way to the boat at 'normal road speeds'.
Check-in will be kept open as long as possible to enable as many people as possible to get onto the sailing.
Update: At 7.05pm all roads - except the stretch between The Bungalow and the Creg ny Baa - were reopen.
