The Department of Infrastructure is putting up the price of fixed penalty fines such as parking tickets.
The price hikes take effect in August and mean a parking ticket will set you back £60 instead of £40.
More serious offences, such as parking on pedestrian crossing zig-zags or speeding, will now cost a motorist £120 – as will parking in a disabled space.
Any fines still unpaid after 42 days automatically go up by another 50 per cent.
