An outgoing Lezayre Commissioner has criticised the government and civil service for persistently ‘interfering’ in local authority matters.
Vivian Quane, who has spent over two decades in local government, claims local authorities are treated as a ‘non-entity’.
With local authority elections taking place next month, the vast majority are uncontested, meaning many seats will be filled without a public vote.
