'Orchestrator' of OCG pleads guilty to drugs offences

37-year-old will be sentenced at Court of General Gaol Delivery

A 37-year-old man accused of being the ‘orchestrator’ of an organised crime group on the Isle of Man has appeared in court.

James Mark Smith, who is currently a serving prisoner, pleaded guilty to three offences of being concerned in the supply of cocaine and cannabis between August 2022 and November 2023.

He also admitted being concerned in the supply of the Class A drug in October 2023.

The court was told Smith had been placed under audio surveillance by police whilst he was staying at The Comis Hotel in Santon.

He’ll be sentenced at the Court of General Gaol Delivery and will next appear there on 14 February.
