Orange sea in Douglas is an algae bloom

Caused by warmer days and sea

An algae bloom has turned the sea orange near to the sea terminal in Douglas Bay.

Swimming through or near to the area is not advised as it may cause skin irritation.

It's a natural summer phenomenon caused by longer daytime light, high nutrients and warm water.
