Peel Group chairman at number 99
John Whittaker, chairman of the Peel Group of companies, is the only Isle of Man based billionaire to feature in the latest Sunday Times Rich List published today (Friday).
Mr Whittaker and his family are reported to have a fortune of £1.753 billion, up £153 million on last year's total.
Mr Whittaker, who owns Billown Mansion in the south of the Island, creeps into the top 100 at number 99.
Whilst his fortune is, by most people's standards, a tidy sum, it's dwarfed by that of Britain's richest man - Gopi Hinduja - who is listed with a fortune of £35 billion. He's enjoyed a solid year, up £6.25 billion on last year.
