Follows residents' 'concerns' about the cost
An Onchan Commissioner says the board is 'negotiating' with Isle of Man Energy for a better tariff for its sheltered housing tenants.
Kathryn Williams has confirmed the chief executive of the local authority has also been to CURA to resolve the problem.
Onchan Commissioners currently pay an 'unregulated' tariff and the charge is passed on to residents in Springfield Court.
Ms Williams says the residents in the complex are 'concerned' about the price they're paying for gas and have asked a number of times what is being done to resolve the issue adding there is a 'misperception' that the commissioners make a profit by doing this.
Local Democracy Reporter Emma Draper has been speaking to her:
Manx Radio has previously highlighted the similar concerns of residents living in sheltered housing in Ramsey.
