Off-road motorcycle seized after being used on playing field

'Ruins landscape and puts public in harm's way'

Police in Douglas have seized an off-road motorcycle after it was seen being ridden across a public playing field.

Officers say the riders weren't wearing helmets, didn't have driving licenses, and the bike had no registration plate, no insurance and no road tax.

They add: "We'll always approach such incidents with zero tolerance, as not only does it ruin our lovely Island landscape, but it places the public at risk of harm by being hit / struck by the motorcycle, ridden by persons untrained."

The owner and riders responsible are due to appear in court.
