NI Secretary makes call in Isle of Man today
Northern Ireland Secretary Chris Heaton-Harris says the next British-Irish Council meeting should be attended by the UK Prime Minister.
He was speaking at the political body's latest summit which was held in the Isle of Man today.
The Northern Ireland Executive was also welcomed back to the table along with the restoration of the devolved institutions and the North South Ministerial Council.
Also in attendance was the new Irish Premier Simon Harris who claimed there's 'more to do' to maintain peace on the island of Ireland and improve Anglo-Irish relations.
He added former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern, who was part of the Good Friday Agreement, was 'entirely correct' when he said relations had become much more fragile and strained since Brexit.
Scottish First Minister John Swinney, and deputy First Minister of Northern Ireland Emma-Little Pengelly, were also at today's summit.
