Barks takes to the stage wearing local designer

Manx singer Samantha Barks has described performing at New York’s Carnegie Hall as an ‘honour’ and one of the ‘best days’ of her life.

The theatre star was in the Big Apple earlier this week for the New York Pops 39th Birthday Gala.

The event was held on Monday and was dedicated to the songs of Kristen and Bobby Lopez – the song writing duo behind Disney films Frozen and Frozen 2.

Hollywood stars from the movie franchise – including Kristen Bell and Josh Gad – took to the stage to perform and were joined by those who’d appeared as their counterparts in Frozen the Musical.

Samantha, who is currently playing Elsa in the West End, performed wearing a Claire Christian Couture dress from local designer, and Douglas South MHK, Claire Christian.

In a post on Instagram the singer said she was ‘lucky to wear such a gorgeous gown’.
