Public invited to welcome new vessel
A new lifeboat will be joining the Island's fleet this weekend.
Peel RNLI is welcoming a £2.2million Shannon-class all-weather lifeboat on Sunday afternoon.
Spectators will be able to see the newest member arrive and be inducted to the fleet at 1:35pm, a time which reflects the new boat's operational number 13-35.
Peel's Lifeboat Operations Manager Allen Corlett says he hopes the public will come out to welcome the new vessel:
Earlier today RNLI Twitter account tweeted a video of the new Shannon-class on it's way:
She's on her way! This Sunday, Peel's brand new Shannon class lifeboat will arrive on station accompanied by former lifeboat 'Ruby Clery', alongside lifeboats from Port Erin and Port St Mary stations, and Peel's current Mersey class relief lifeboat, 'Mary Margaret'. pic.twitter.com/OsfqeF9Ni3
