New MHK wants "policies" not "personalities"

North Douglas MHK says it's time to face hardships

It was second time lucky for David Ashford in Douglas North on Thursday.

He fought back after losing a by-election in the constituency last year to edge out defending member John Houghton and top the polls.

He'll now work alongside the man who beat him in that by-election - Ralph Peake - in the House of Keys.

Mr Ashford says he's under no illusion as to the difficulties facing the Island:
