Public Health 'taking steps to end overdose' on IOM
It's a medication which temporarily reverses the effects of an opioid overdose and it's said to have helped save 35 lives on the Isle of Man in the past four years.
Manx addiction charity Motiv8 can provide free Naloxone kits and training on how to administer it, should someone you know be at risk.
It’s described as a simple nasal spray, no bigger than a match box.
The Isle of Man Naloxone Programme says today is about remembering without stigma those who have died and acknowledge the grief of family and friends left behind.
Thea Ozenturk is the CEO of Motiv8:
Motiv8 is operating drop-in sessions every Tuesday afternoon, starting in September, where you can learn how to administer Naloxone and collect a kit.
