Not enough places for youngsters
A mother has told a Tynwald committee there 'simply aren't enough' nursery places for Island infants.
Fiona Moore was giving evidence after complaints spaces were available for just one in ten children.
One nursery she looked at had a waiting list longer than nine months.
Although the cost of childcare is generally level with the UK average, Ms Moore claimed increasing benefits for parents and guardians could ease pressure on the system.
She insisted the problem needs to be looked at:
Minimum wage increase 'dreadful' for business owners
Last chance for central residents to respond to 20mph consultation
Road to close for 'very large' elm tree to be felled
Peel RNLI renews appeal for new Lifeboat Press Officer
