More questions about Crogga to be raised in HoK

DoI minister to answer queries about gas licence

More questions about Crogga - and the plans to consider the extraction of gas from Manx waters – will be raised in the House of Keys today (4 March).

Middle MHK Stu Peters had tabled an urgent question on the company’s licence before it expired last week (28 February).

He wants to know if its expiry means the Island can never establish whether it owns a commercial gas field in our territorial waters.

Douglas Central MHK Chris Thomas will ask the infrastructure minister what licences, leases and arrangements are in place for offshore renewable energy generation and their terms and conditions.

He also wants details on revenue the department has received since April 2014.

Mr Thomas is also seeking clarity on the value of the Ben-my-Chree and what plans the Steam Packet has to grow sea services and increase resilience.

There are 16 questions tabled for oral answer today (4 March).

Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse has tabled five of them.

He’ll ask the treasury minister about funding plans for Hospice Isle of Man and whether support will be increased to expand palliative care.

He also wants to know how many traffic related incidents, last year, were caused by the brightness of LED vehicle headlights and how many knives were confiscated at the postal sorting office.

The House of Keys sitting will start at 10am – you can find the order paper HERE.

The Legislative Council election will also take place during the sitting.

You can listen live via Manx Radio’s AM 1368 frequency, on DAB or by clicking HERE.
