Chair of the Housing and Communities Board discusses its future
Government needs to work out why its mid-rent scheme wasn't working before considering reintroducing it.
That's according to the chair of the Housing and Communities Board after it was scrapped in July.
The scheme was designed to allow tenants to save money for a deposit to buy a house while renting but just three applicants managed to do so in the five years it was running.
David Ashford says it needs to be relooked at:
Main road between Peel and Douglas to shut for tree felling
'Targeted and intelligence led approach' to protect Island's borders during Irish sailings
Airport Director role advertised with top salary of £120,000
Traders on Michael Street feel 'abandoned' by politicians in tough times
