MHK threatens to continue 'guerrilla gardening' until roads are fixed

Michelle Haywood tells Manx Radio she'll plant Christmas trees in December

A Rushen MHK is threatening to plant Christmas trees, with LED lights, in potholes in Port St Mary if the Department of Infrastructure does not fix the roads through the village.

Michelle Haywood spent this morning (5 September) filling the withering road surface on High Street with cyclamen.

She says it's because she's 'sick of em' not 'getting on with the detailed design for the rebuild of the High Street and the top end of Athol Street' which she says is in 'such poor condition'.

In March this year the MHK planted daffodils on the same street and two days later workers from the DoI were seen on the street filling the potholes.

Dr Haywood told Manx Radio she will continue 'guerrilla gardening' until her message for better road infrastructure is heard:

Manx Radio has invited the Department of Infrastructure to respond.
