Julie Edge says it will save money but won't save lives
An Onchan MHK says she will ‘fight tooth and nail’ to stop a proposal that would see a decrease in the frequency of breast and cervical cancer screenings.
It’s one of the changes the Department of Health and Social Care has included in the Mandate for Manx Care for the next service year.
Julie Edge, who has been in contact with the minister and two cancer charities from the Island, has described the proposition as unnerving for people.
She added that while it’s a service that will save on costs, it won’t save lives and is calling for a Tynwald debate to be held first:

Manx Radio is expected to speak to the health minister and a Manx Care representative later today.
