An MHK says he doesn’t understand why the horse trams ran along Douglas promenade this year.
Bill Shimmins made the comments during a debate about ongoing refurbishment works along the capital’s seafront.
The Middle member told the court the horse trams had been ‘prioritised’ over the interests of others, a decision which is ‘regrettable’:
Mr Shimmins suggested there’s a conflict of interest, as the Department of Infrastructure runs the horse trams, yet was also tasked with overseeing the promenade works.
