Draft legislation to be drawn up
Draft legislation is being drawn up after MHKs voted in favour of debating abortion legislation in yesterday's (Tue) House of Keys sitting.
Ramsey MHK Alex Allinson was the driving force in introducing a private members bill to give Manx women similar rights to those in England, Scotland and Wales.
That move was supported by 21 votes to three - meaning modernising the law currently in place here can now be properly considered by the house.
At present, abortions are only permitted locally following rape, or on mental health grounds - Mr Allinson explains his proposals:
Former DOI minister informed via a 'two-minute whatsapp call'
MHK criticises language used by chief minister during reshuffle
Chief Minister: I hope that cabinet reshuffle can 'stop the fighting'
MNFU implores Tynwald to 'include the industry in its considerations regarding employment'
