Health Minister claims 'things are moving quickly'
The Isle of Man Government is not 'standing still' in considering how to deal with a new variant of Covid-19.
The health minister has taken to Twitter to say 'things are moving quickly' in response to Omicron being detected in the UK.
Lawrie Hooper claims 'initial steps' have been taken and government is working on a 'further response'.
UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has this evening announced new measures in England to mitigate against the risk of the variant.
These include PCR tests for anyone arriving in the UK with people having to self-isolate until they receive a negative test.
Face coverings in shops there, and on public transport, will also be compulsory.
