Council plans ICT facility on Merseyside
A local authority on Merseyside says it could allow some of its former premises to be used to set up a Manx IT college.
Wirral Borough Council is due to discuss a report updating members on the proposals from cabinet member for resources Councillor Adrian Jones.
Dubbed the ‘Isle of Mann University ICT Faculty’ by the council, it would be set up in two former council buildings in Birkenhead.
But although the council says it’s in negotiations with Manx-based businesses it says it can’t give more details because of commercial confidentiality.
A spokesman for the council said it hoped to issue an update early next year.
