Manx Christmas traditions bring the community together says Culture Vannin

Hunt the Wren, Cammag and White Boys among the festive events

Keeping Manx Christmas traditions alive helps to bring the community together according to Culture Vannin.

It's helping to organise a number of the traditional festive events like Cammag, White Boys and Hunt the Wren.

They're all part of Kegeesh Ommidjagh - or the 'Foolish Fortnight'.

Events are taking place as follows:

White Boys

Saturday, 21 December:

  • 10am - Port St Mary outside the Co-op
  • 10.45am - Port Erin by the railway station
  • 11am - Ramsey outside the Courthouse
  • 11.30am - Colby Methodist Hall
  • 12pm - Kirk Michael outside Cannan Court
  • 12.15pm - Castletown Square
  • 1.30pm - Michael Street, Peel
  • 2.30pm - Michael Street, Peel
  • 5pm - Black Dog Pizza, Peel

Hunt the Wren

Thursday, 26 December:

  • 10am - Port St Mary (meet at Scoill Phurt-le-Moirrey car park)
  • 10.15am - Douglas (meet outside the Woodbourne Hotel)
  • 10.30am - Ramsey (meet outside St Paul's Church)
  • 10.30am - St John's (meet in the Arboretum car park)
  • 10.45am - Willaston (meet in the school car park)
  • 11am - Kirk Michael (meet outside the Mitre pub)
  • 11.20am - Ballaugh (meet outside The Raven)
  • 11.40am - Sulby (meet at Sulby Glen Pub)

Thursday, 26 December:

2pm - Tynwald Fairfield, St John's. Followed by a Manx music session at the Tynwald Inn
