Manx Care did not 'harass, victimise or discriminate' lecturer because of race

Tribunal also finds he was not constructively dismissed

A tribunal has ruled that a lecturer working for Manx Care was not harassed, victimised or discriminated against because of his race.

The Employment and Equality Tribunal has also determined Raymond Ndengeya was not constructively dismissed from his position.

Mr Ndengeya, who worked as a cognitive behavioural therapy programme director, had alleged he’d lost his job after his request for a sabbatical was refused.

A hearing took place in September last year with the tribunal reaching its decision on Monday (22 January).

It ruled against him and determined his allegations of racial prejudice were ‘misconceived and potentially damaging’ to the reputation of Manx Care.
