Mannin Cancers Support Group launches 'Wheelie Good Cause'

Funds will assist the Macmillan Support Centre at Noble's Hospital

You've heard of cows, wallabies and dolphins dotted around the Isle of Man - how about racing bikes?

Mannin Cancers Support Group has launched a new fundraising initiative inspired by the prestigious TT Races.

In the past 13 years the charity has raised more than £9 million for healthcare on the Isle of Man.

For its latest idea businesses and organisations are being invited to sponsor a bike which will be on display at next year's event in the Mercury Club.

Chairperson Julie Stokes says all funds raised will stay on Island to support the construction of the charity's support centre at Noble's Hospital.

She spoke to Manx Radio alongside MHK Sarah Maltby who is political member for the Department for Enterprise with delegation for Motorsport:

Corporate sponsors will be able to 'create a bespoke design to be applied to the 3D base and keep a model of [it] forever'.

Race teams who sponsor a bike will see it designed in their own team's livery.

And in recognition of the heritage of the TT the charity is also planning on getting a series of bikes designed that are inspired by famous TT riders and machines from the past and present.

On Senior Race Day 2025 the custom bike models that are not being allocated to sponsors and the heritage bikes will be auctioned off at a special event.
