Manchester-based Untold Orchestra to visit the Island for three special gigs

They will cover the music of Amy Winehouse and local heroes the Bee Gees, alongside the magic of Disney

Manchester-based orchestra is to visit the Island later this summer as part of the Isle of Man Arts Council's 60th anniversary celebrations.

The Untold Orchestra will be playing three concerts, each dedicated to a different musical icon in three local venues.

The series kicks off with an over 16s event on Thursday 8 May, at the Erin Arts Centre, Port Erin, with a tribute to Amy Winehouse.

On Friday 9 May, there is an evening celebrating the magic of Disney.

The Untold Orchestra will fill the Peel Centenary Centre with some of the most cherished songs from classic and modern Disney films for audiences of all ages.

Then on Saturday 10 May, at Cathedral Isle of Man, the Isle of Man Arts Council has commissioned an orchestrated celebration of local legends, the Bee Gees.

Chair of the Isle of Man Arts Council Sarah Maltby said: "We are delighted to be bringing The Untold Orchestra to the Isle of Man for what promises to be an incredible series of performances.

"The Icons series perfectly captures the power of music to bring people together, and we are thrilled to support events that celebrate both international and local musical heritage. This is a wonderful opportunity for audiences to experience these iconic songs in a fresh and exciting way."

Tickets for all three concerts are on sale now here.
