Man saying goodbye to two-and-a-half-foot dreadlocks in aid of charity

Thomas Baker fundraising for Great Ormond Street

A man who hasn't had his hair cut in 14 years will finally end that record tonight when he has it all cut off for charity.

Thomas Baker says his dreadlocks have become 'part of his identity' over the years, but it's time for a change.

He'll be in Sam Webbs in Douglas tonight having them cut off one-by-one - all in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital.

"I have a gorgeous ten-week-old baby, I can't be cleaning sick out of it every day."

Thomas spoke to Manx Radio's Lewis Foster about the decision to have his hair cut off, and why he chose G.O.S.H as his charity of choice:

All are welcome. The event gets underway at 6:30pm.

Tom is hoping to raise £500 for the charity - you can donate online HERE.

Some attending Sam Webbs tonight who donate to the cause will have the opportunity to cut one of Tom's dreads themselves.
