
Under 1,800 gift cards sold as part of £180K project
A government backed gift card – designed to stimulate spend in the local economy – has been branded a ‘waste of time’ by a restaurant boss.
Just fewer than 1800 Love IOM cards have been sold - with £66,000 credited to them - since the scheme launched in September.
The Department for Enterprise has confirmed that it’s paid out more than £180,000 of taxpayers’ money to companies involved in the initiative.
