Legislation in place from 1st January 2018
Freedom of Information legislation will extend to cover local authorities in the new year, allowing ratepayers from Bride to Braddan to make requests.
Policy and Reform Minister Chris Thomas says this 'next step' in the legislation will come into effect from the 1st of January next year.
So far, two thirds of information requested has been released by government, on topics from the costs of Government House, to the removal of palm trees.
Mr Thomas says it's important to ensure the system is used for the right reasons:
Reducing hospitality VAT would 'directly affect' provision of frontline services
No conversations with UK over a reduction in VAT rates for hospitality businesses planned
