ManxSPCA manager questions whether existing legislation is adequate
The general manager of ManxSPCA has questioned whether the Island's laws concerning the importing and exporting of livestock are up to scratch.
Juana Warburton made the comments in relation to a new Animal Welfare Act - which was drafted by the Manx Government in 2017 but hasn't yet completed the parliamentary process:
Mrs Warburton believes new laws relating to the transporting of live animals could be introduced as secondary legislation, after the new Animal Welfare Act is enshrined here.
