Liverpool Ferry Terminal: one week on

Minister and Steam Packet boss discuss 'teething issues'

The infrastructure minister says there have been some 'teething problems' with the new Liverpool Ferry Terminal in its first week in operation.

Tim Crookall says initial feedback from passengers shows that more signage is needed around the area of Prince's Half-Tide Dock to direct people where to go.

Meanwhile the schedule was delayed twice last week - one time blamed on 'tidal conditions' another 'operational reasons'.

Modifications have been made to the Manannan to allow passengers on and off during low-tide times.

When a cruise ship is in dock next to the former Isle of Man terminal at Pier Head, access to the Prince's Half-Tide Dock is restricted.

Minister Crookall and Steam Packet Managing Director Brian Thomson told Manx Radio what issues have been identified so far:

Yesterday (1 July) buses started to serve the new Liverpool Ferry Terminal, an increased service will start on 20 July.
