'Cautious optimism' basic service can still be delivered
A local charity that helps people live independently looks to have received a lifeline after reporting that it would have to close at the end of the month.
Live at Home had told its members it was planning to cease operations, due to financial reasons, at the end of August.
The move would have affected around 500 service users and led to 10 redundancies.

Now though, after a 'significant contribution' from an unnamed local individual, the charity hopes to be able to press on with a significant re-structuring programme and continue its work albeit on a more basic level.
It's hoped around half of the jobs at risk could be saved.
