Result triggers two Keys by-elections
Two vacant seats on Legislative Council have been filled today, both by serving MHKs.
Tim Crookall and David Anderson were voted-in to parliament's upper chamber, triggering by-elections in Peel and Glenfaba.
Five candidates entered the fray at today's special sitting of the Keys, each seeking the minimum 13 votes required.
Mr Crookall achieved that score in the third round of voting, but the winning margin of support for Mr Anderson didn't emerge until the eighth ballot.
Today's election was the third attempt to fill two remaining seats on LegCo, after four became vacant by rotation earlier this year.
It has seen two new figures throw their hats into the ring, former High Bailiff Michael Moyle and former Rushen commissioner Adrian Tinkler.
Neither however, made sufficient progress in the early rounds and both dropped out of the race.
