They're just trying to take a break
We can expect to see an increase in seal pups hauling up on our beaches in the coming days.
That's the warning from the Manx Wildlife Trust as the Island continues to experience stormy weather.
The charity says this is normal behaviour, as they need time to rest.
People are being asked to keep their distance, and not to encourage any pups or seals back into the water, as they’ll go back when they are ready.
The charity has a number of volunteer 'Seal Sitters' around the Isle of Man to keep an eye on the animals.
If you have any concerns about a seal or pup's health, or believe they are at risk of disturbance on busy public beaches, you're asked to call the charity on 844 432 during office hours or send them a Facebook message.
