
Onchan MHK Peter Karran's bid to shake up the Legislative Council has passed its first hurdle.
He has this morning been given permission by the House of Keys to introduce a reform bill.
Members voted 18-2 in favour.
Mr Karran wants to make LegCo popularly elected, ban MLCs from becoming ministers, and adjust the eligibility criteria for potential candidates.
