Publication muses 'how to spend a weekend' here
"Alone in the Irish Sea, the Celtic island promises plenty beyond the roar of its famous racing circuit, from wooded glens and rich birdlife to mysterious ruins alive with mythical tales" - that's the description of the Isle of Man in a new article featured in world-renowned travel publication National Geographic.
The article, titled 'How to spend a weekend on the Isle of Man' sets out what tourists can do in the morning, afternoon and evening of their visit to the Island.
It highlights several local businesses including Hotel Halvard, IOM Trike Tours, the Little Fish Café, Wine Down, Versa and the Fynoderee Distillery.
According to the piece by Daniel Stables, the top five things outdoor activities are: a walk from Laxey to King Orry's Grave, the Raad Daawheeyl cycle route, wildlife spotting, kayaking and a hike from Port St Mary to Port Erin.
It also delves into Manx folklore, and the best places to stay when visiting.
