Isle of Man Railways to mark 200 years of passenger rail travel

It's one of more than 50 other heritage railways across the UK taking part in 'Whistle-Up'

Isle of Man Railways will be joining more than 50 other heritage railways across the UK marking nearly 200 years of passenger rail travel.

It's taking part in the nationwide 'Whistle-Up' event - which will see the Number 11 Maitland making a noise at midday today.

Network Rail has described it as the 'biggest heritage railway mass-participation event ever'.

The public are invited to Douglas Station to join in the celebrations from 10.30am.
