August-Phillips progressing Reproductive Rights Bill 2024

Legislation on the Isle of Man concerning fertilisation, embryology and surrogacy must be brought up to date with that in the UK to give people here equality.

MLC Tanya August-Phillips is progressing the Reproductive Rights Bill 2024 as a Private Members Bill.

She's previously said she feels 'very sad' for same-sex couples who have had to 'struggle' due to 'poor legislative progression' on the Island.

Evidence has now been heard from experts and a number of amendments have been suggested which will go back before politicians for discussion.

Mrs August-Phillips told Manx Radio individuals here deserve to be on a ‘strong footing’ and the law must be constantly looked at to ensure that happens:
