Shannon-class vessel to replace relief lifeboat Mary Margaret
Peel's new lifeboat arrives on station this afternoon (Sun)
The £2.2 million Shannon-class all-weather vessel will is due to arrive on the seaward side of Peel Breakwater at 1.35, to reflect its operational number of 13-35.
She's due to be joined by lifeboats from Port Erin and Port St Mary stations, as well as the current Mersey class relief lifeboat Mary Margaret.
Peel's Lifeboat Operations Manager Allen Corlett says the new boat is state of the art.
The new lifeboat is due to be named at formal ceremony on Saturday 27 June, when it's hoped renovations to the boathouse and slipway will be complete.
