Chief Minister attending Labour Party Conference
The chief minister says the Isle of Man is ready to work with the new UK Government to ‘deliver growth for the whole of the British family’.
Alfred Cannan is attending the Labour Party Conference in Liverpool.
He’s been joined by Deputy Chief Minister Jane Poole-Wilson at the event.
Mr Cannan said: “Each year we attend the party conferences of the party in power and the official opposition.
“This year, with a new government, the position is somewhat different.
“We will be working to build on existing relationships, and making new connections, to put across the Island’s message – that we are ready to work with the new government to deliver growth for the whole of the British family.
“It is also an excellent opportunity to meet with members of the party more broadly and especially with our neighbours in the North West.
“With such a large intake of new MPs, and a new government, it will be especially interesting to form new relationships with our near neighbours.”
Enterprise Minister Tim Johnston is expected to attend the Conservative Party Conference later this month.
