DESC warns that ‘malicious accusations and comments’ will be reported to police
Independent external investigators have now been appointed to look at concerns surrounding the Relationships and Sex Education Advisory Curriculum.
The Department of Education, Sport and Culture hasn’t confirmed who they are but says they will produce a report and highlight any action that the department may need to take.
It follows claims about the teaching of sex education in secondary schools.
People are being urged not to speculate whilst the ‘facts are established’ – the DESC says ‘malicious accusations and comments’ will be reported to the police where appropriate.
According to the department these comments are being received by staff, and shared across social media platforms, and are ‘damaging and having a detrimental impact’.
More information about the investigation will be released ‘within the coming days’.
