Court hears 46-year-old drowned in Douglas Harbour

The inquest into the death of a missing fisherman has been opened at Douglas Courthouse.
Lee Scott’s body was found by divers searching the capital’s inner harbour on 13 November.
The 46-year-old, who lived in Douglas, had been reported missing five days earlier.
Today (5 December) Coroner of Inquests James Brooks confirmed that CCTV had shown him entering the harbour on 8 November.
A police officer who attended the Sea Terminal after Mr Scott's body had been recovered from the seabed, in an area of deep water, noted he’d been in the sea for a ‘length of time’.
A subsequent post-mortem found he’d drowned.
Coroner Brooks told the court it wasn’t possible to determine, at this stage, Mr Scott’s exact date of death.
Investigations are continuing and a full inquest will be held in due course once all available evidence has been gathered; Mr Scott’s body was released so that funeral arrangements can take place.
