House of Keys to discuss speed limits, wind farm impact and patient transfers

MHKs to also consider school swimming lessons, immigration routes and driverless vehicles

Traffic speeds, and the potential impact of a proposed wind farm on property values, are among 14 questions set to be discussed in the House of Keys (11 March).

Also on the agenda is the cost of introducing a 20mph speed limit in Port St Mary.

The session will begin at 10am with His Majesty the King’s Commonwealth Day Message.

This will be followed by three starred questions which take priority for discussion.

Onchan MHK Julie Edge will seek further details on reforms to on-Island patient transfer services first announced in July 2023 as well as potential changes to cancer screenings.

Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse will ask why Ballasalla pupils must travel to the NSC in Douglas for swimming lessons.

Meanwhile Douglas Central Chris Thomas wants to know why the Housing and Communities Bill has been removed from the legislative programme.

Other questions tabled for discussion include immigration routes, the impact of autonomous vehicles and support for university students.
